TAKE a look at the latest progress of the multi-million pound Mersey Gateway.
Our photographer Paul Heaps captured these pictures of builders in action on the new £600 million bridge over the River Mersey linking Runcorn and Widnes.
Work started on the Mersey Gateway in May 2014.
The project, which aims to alleviate congestion in the area, is expected to be completed by autumn 2017
Both the new Mersey Gateway Bridge and the Silver Jubilee Bridge will be tolled, but they will be free for Halton residents to cross.
