A WIDNES grandma is searching for pampered pooches to take part in a doggy fashion show that she has organised.

Lynn Spruce is looking for canine supermodels who can strut their stuff on the catwalk as part of a dog fashion show taking place later this month.

The Hough Green resident will show off wares designed for her handmade canine clothing business Mutzmacs, which Lynn set up a decade ago as she was disappointed at the clothing on offer for her dogs Cassie and Paddy.

Grandma-of-four Lynn said: “I am aiming to stage three fashion shows during the day and it would be lovely to have dogs of different sizes and breeds to take part.

“I don’t mind what type of dog they are – they all have star qualities but the crucial thing is that they need to be good with people and with other dogs.

“Apart from that as long as they don’t mind trying on some of my wardrobe, which have been specially designed with their comfort in mind, then the job is pretty much theirs.

“It doesn’t matter what size they are either because I can make something to fit them if I know in time that they will be on the catwalk – that’s why I am keen to hear from dog owners as soon as possible.”

Lynn, who has four dogs and also works in recruitment for Argos, receives requests for bespoke tutus, bandanas and dresses and also receives commissions for doggy tuxedos for their owners weddings.

The 61-year-old also made a special bib for a bulldog called Boda who couldn’t stop scratching her chest, designed with a special material in order to protect the pooch’s skin.

She added: “The nice thing about that was that the owner said that it actually helped with the scratching too because it settled Boda’s skin down and she seemed to get out of the habit of scratching.”

Lynn’s fashion show is one attraction forming the Pets on the Hill event taking place in Tarporley on Sunday September 25.
