STUDENTS in Halton have exceeded the national pass rate with 99 per cent of A-level entries awarded A* to E grades - one per cent above the reported national pass rate.
The number of students awarded high grades continues to improve with 75 per cent of subject entries graded as A* to C.
Students completing BTEC and vocational equivalent subjects also have plenty of reasons to celebrate with more than 70 per cent of entries awarded distinction grades.
Halton Borough Council's executive board member for children, young people and families, Cllr Tom McInerney, said the results show the level of commitment and dedication by not only young people but the hard working of teaching staff.
