FIREFIGHTERS were called out to two fires in Widnes this morning, Monday.
At around 8.30am two fire engines from Widnes arrived at the scene of a microwave fire in Kingsway House on Caldwell Road.
There were reports of a burning smell on the first floor and firefighters searched all of the building to find the source of the fire.
They discovered a small microwave fire which had burned out when they arrived so crews made sure there were no more signs of a fire and checked that the building was safe.
Firefighters from Widnes, Frodsham and Penketh were called out to another fire at around 9.20am.
They were on the scene of a workshop on Hale Road in Widnes where a fire involving a conveyor belt had broken out.
The flames were put out using a hose reel jet and thermal imaging cameras were used to check the area for any other signs of fire.
