A MAN was rescued from a kitchen fire in Runcorn by firefighters.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered a blazing flat on Grangeway shortly before 8.20pm last night.
They led a man, who was overcome with smoke, to safety and handed him over to the care of paramedics.
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust said a man in his early 50s was taken to Warrington Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
Crews extinguished the fire with two hose reel jets.
A large fan was used to clear the smoke.
An investigation is now being carried out to find out the cause of the fire.
