Norton Priory Museum and Gardens were thrilled to be part of the Cheshire Gardens of Distinction at the RHS Tatton Flower Show.

The Runcorn team designed moisture loving plants and flowers surrounding a small pond with sandstone features carved by volunteer stonemason Altomont Townsend.

Ranger Paul Quigley created a living willow chair as the centrepiece to the garden as well as a willow obelisk.

Claire Broadhurst, Norton Priory activity planner, said: “The show days were fantastic with lots of visitors talking to us.

“We received some fantastic comments about the garden and planting.

“The plants from the show garden will be returned to Norton Priory and re-planted to create beautiful landscaping to the new museum opening in August and also along our stream glade in the woodlands.”

Paul also delivered children’s activities on the Saturday including making mini bug hotels to encourage pollinators in their own gardens.
