A SPECIAL celebration has been held to mark the 30th anniversary of Halton Hospital’s very own radio station.

Volunteers held a tombola in the main corridor of the Runcorn hospital on Thursday to raise awareness and funds.

The Mayor of Halton Cllr Ged Philbin met the team and visited the studio.

The longest serving volunteer Derry Griffiths has been chatting to patients since the station opened.

The event raised £123 and volunteers would like to thank all the businesses who donated prizes including Silver Blades Widnes, Rick Astley, Shaws butchers of Church Street, the Co-op on Granville Street, Gleave’s Garden Centre and the Old Hall Hotel.

Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can e-mail info@radiohalton.org or call 01928 753417.
