A MAN was knocked unconscious after being attacked in a vicious street robbery in Runcorn.
The 25-year-old victim was approached by a gang of thugs who assaulted him before stealing a quantity of cash.
The man from Runcorn suffered a swollen eye and bruising to his body and was left lying unconscious on the ground.
The incident happened under a subway by The Knoll in Palacefields on Saturday between 3.15pm and 3.45pm.
Police say the man has been left shaken.
It is not known if the attackers were men or women.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
