RIVERSIDE College has received a prestigious accolade from the Royal Air Force.

The catering and hospitality and uniformed services departments have been awarded the platinum partnership award.

College Principal Mary Murphy said: “We are delighted to receive this prestigious award which recognises the close links and working partnership we have developed with the RAF.

“We look forward to continuing to work with the RAF who has provided fantastic support and advice to many of our students over the years.”

Flight Lieutenant Ed Stephens, who has more than 14 years’ service with the RAF, spoke to students about the unique relationship between the college and the RAF.

He provided advice on RAF career opportunities and then presented the certificate to students and staff at the Scholars Restaurant on the Kingsway college site.

The award recognises how the College promotes RAF opportunities to students and maintains links with former students who have achieved successful military careers.
