A TEENAGER was rescued by firefighters after getting stuck behind locked school gates in Widnes.
The boy was led to safety after becoming trapped in the grounds of Saint Peter and Paul Catholic College on Highfield Road shortly before 4pm on Saturday.
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Trust said the casualty was taken to Whiston Hospital after getting his hand caught on a fence.
Paramedics were called at 3.30pm.
Firefighters used a ladder to reach the boy and removed a padlock from a school gate.
Police also attended the incident.
