WIDNES schoolboys are celebrating another victorious season.
The year eight rugby team has reached the national schools’ final for the second successive year.
The team retained their north west champions’ title with a 36-10 victory against Saddleworth.
Howard Mealey from Wade Deacon School said: “Unbeaten this year the team has only suffered one loss since they started in 2014.
“To get to the national final back to back is certainly a massive achievement for which the players, coaching staff and school are very proud.”
Wade Deacon will now play Glantaf School in Cardiff who defeated the Birchfield Road school in the final last year.
The boys are determined to erase that disappointment and will be working tirelessly over the summer to ensure that the defeat is avenged.
The final will be played at Richmond Athletic Association on Friday, August 26.
