Tea and cakes will be available at new social afternoon in Widnes
A NEW social afternoon is being launched in Widnes.
The event starts today from 1.30pm to 3.30pm in Upton Community Centre on Hough Green Road and will be held every Thursday.
The get together is being organised by entertainers singer LeeAnn James and her husband Ian from Runcorn.
“We’re hoping that this will fill a little gap in the community for some people who may not always be able to get out at night, may be looking for something to do during the day or who just want to make new friends in a friendly social environment.”
There will be bingo, a quiz, music, tea and cakes.
Admission is £2.50 and includes a cup of tea.
