FIREFIGHTERS tackled a kitchen fire in Widnes.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus put out the blaze in a house on Carlton Street at 6.15pm last night.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The fire was caused by a plastic tub that had been left on the cooker.”
A large fan was used to clear the smoke.
Firefighters were at the incident for around an hour.
