A WIDNES schoolgirl is preparing for a television performance that could change her life for ever.

Beau Dermott moved the nation with her extraordinary operatic voice on Britain’s Got Talent .

The 12-year-old will perform live in the semi finals tonight, Wednesday, after judge Amanda Holden’s hit the golden buzzer following her stunning audition.

She won a standing ovation from all four judges and rapturous applause, but the Cronton singer needs your votes to get through to Saturday’s final.

In an exclusive interview, her dad Ian, 52, of Linacre Lane, said: “She is just a normal little kid from Widnes with an incredible voice.

“It is without doubt a gift. You can’t hold this talent back.

“Once people hear her sing they want more. They are fascinated and say: ‘How the hell has a 12-year-old sung that?’”

Beau has been overwhelmed with messages from fans as far afield as Japan, Australia and France who are mesmerised by her powerful voice.

Even Indina Menzel, the original star of Wicked , was bowled over by her jaw-dropping rendition of Defying Gravity , saying her version of the signature song had produced ‘chills’.

The song she will be performing tonight is top secret and was chosen by Beau and her dad.

“We were looking at ideas and saw one from a musical,” he said.

“We just knew straightaway this was the one,” he said.

“This is going to be a big song. We all love it.”

Beau has spent weeks rehearsing at home while studying at The Hammond performing arts school in Chester.

Her incredible voice was only discovered when she was eight.

Since her TV debut, film crews have filmed her at home with her family and

dog Bailey and she has been interviewed for magazines.

“Her big dream is to be in the West End or maybe Broadway,” added Ian.

“Being on television has not changed her.

“She likes girlie things and loves to do a bit of horse riding and play the

piano.”

Winning Halton’s Got Talent and entering talent shows, he said, has

given her valuable experience.

“It’s a great platform,” he added.

“There is absolutely no way she could have done this without having that

preparation.

“The support she has received has been unbelievable.

“Beau is going to give it her all. Anyone who votes for her will be

greatly appreciated. She will not let you down.”

Sylvia Thomson, head teacher of Cronton CE Primary School, said:

“Beau has a wonderful talent.

“We have watched her grow and develop into a beautiful singer and her

performance on the show was breathtaking and flawless as ever.

“We are so pleased she is able to showcase her talents. She deserves all

her success and we wish her well for the future.”

Beau’s parents Ian and Karen, 44, and brother, Ben, 21, will be with her in

London.

“It’s a great opportunity for her,” added Ian.

“If she gets to the final that will be like winning it.

“I’ll be a bag of nerves but Beau switches into character and just

performs.

“It is very exciting."
