TWO adults and two youths have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Widnes dad.
The four suspects are currently helping police with their enquiries following the death of Lee Briggs.
The 43-year-old was found with serious injuries near a children’s playground at St Marie’s Community Park on Ann Street West shortly before 5pm on Monday, May 16.
Police found him in a field near Tesco Extra off Lugsdale Road.
He was taken to Whiston Hospital where he sadly died a short time later.
A post mortem concluded the cause of death was due to a single stab wound.
At this time, the police say they are unable to give any further information about the four suspects who are being held in custody.
Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 628 of 16th May.
