Science talk at the Hillcrest Hotel, Cronton Lane, Widnes
ANYONE interested in science is invited to a special event in Widnes.
Jonathan Lageard will be talking about Bog Oaks and Bog Bodies at the Hillcrest Hotel, Cronton Lane at 7.30pm on Wednesday, May 11.
The senior lecturer in environmental studies at Manchester Metropolitan University is a guest of Widnes SciBar.
Peatlands cover significant areas of the north west and have suffered considerably through drainage and exploitation.
Mr Lageard will explain how the discovery of bog oaks and bog bodies have shed fascinating information on the past.
