FIREFIGHTERS tackled a bedroom fire in Runcorn.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze at a house in Petersgate, Murdishaw shortly after 2.30pm yesterday.
The fire broke out on the third floor of the property.
Firefighters from Runcorn and Frodsham dealt with the incident.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Four breathing apparatus wearers then checked the loft space for fire spread.
“A hose reel fan was used to clear smoke from the house.
“Termperature checks were carried out and the area was being dampened down with hose reel jets.”
An investigation is now under way to find out the cause of the fire.
