POLICE have launched a murder investigation following the death of a 27-year-old man in Runcorn.
Officers were called at 8.30pm last night, Tuesday, to reports of an injured man in need of medical attention, on Warrington Road in Astmoor.
A 27-year-old injured man was taken to Whiston Hospital but was sadly pronounced dead at approximately 10pm.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "Formal identification of the victim has yet to take place and a home office post mortem is expected to take place later today.
"Three local men aged 52 , 36 and 38 have been arrested in relation to the incident and are currently in custody helping officers with their enquiries."
