RUNCORN sixth formers have kicked off a new female football team to resounding success.
Teenage girls at Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy in Murdishaw is competing in the new Cheshire developmental league.
The fledgling team hosted the second round of the league’s fixtures and won their first two matches.
Team captain Leah Bentley, 17, scored the winning goal against Mid Cheshire College.
Victory followed with a 4-0 win against West Cheshire College.
Olivia Moore, 16 scored two goals, Leah Bentley kicked one in the net and a surprise finishing goal came from sub Keerah Watts, 17.
Player of the tournament went to Olivia Moore for her amazing dodging and superb goals.
The girls are now looking forward to the next round of fixtures which will be played on Moss Farm’s 3G pitches.
