PEX Hill, Upton Rocks Park and footpaths, Pickering Pasture, West Bank esplanade, Spike Island and roads in West Bank are blighted with dog mess.

Owners deliberately let their dogs off the lead and walk ahead.

They don’t know what the dogs are doing.

At Pex Hill they throw balls into the farmers’ fields, damaging crops and contaminating the crop.

At all places some people pick it up and lob the bag into shrubs.

One council is going to DNA the faeces, which I think is a good idea.

There is a play area on the field by the Catalyst museum. Dogs should be banned from this field.

They could allocate an area for a dog run like the ones in Victoria Park, Spike Island, Pickering Pasture and Upton Park.

I may be wrong but I thought dogs were supposed to be on leads in public spaces.

I go to these locations for leisure but have to look at the ground all the time.

I have observed that not all dog owners act in this ignorant way and have respect for the environment. There are a lot of responsible dog owners.

Spike Island lately has been an absolute disgrace.

Visitors are coming to see the bridge being built. What must they think?

It is an old gripe that we never see any improvement in respect for others.

Dogs for the blind are trained from being pups to go the toilet in the same place at a set time every day, in the owner’s garden on litter trays.

All dogs can be trained to do this.
