A WIDNES man was bombarded with calls and texts from job seekers after an advert for bar staff on Manchester Christmas Market included his number by mistake.

But he says rather than get annoyed with the hapless job hunters, he has been replying to them all and having a bit of fun with his responses.

Robbie Tinsley added: "I got a couple of texts on Tuesday night enquiring about a job but ignored them and then when the third text came through I asked them where they had got my number from.

"I'm studying primary teaching at the moment at John Moores University and had to come home as my phone kept disturbing everyone in the library.

"After a bit of searching on Gumtree I found the post online but it took them a while to take it down.

"I decided to reply politely to everyone that got in touch as it's not their fault the number was wrong and it's a shame if they're looking for work."

The 29-year-old estimates he received 20 texts and 30 phone calls from people looking for 'Lloyd' and the opportunity to work in Manchester with many littered with spelling mistakes and predictive text errors.

He posted the messages and comical replies on Facebook this week with one person commenting it was the 'best thing they had read that day'.

He added: "Some of them were really good with one guy from France saying he had qualified from the Dublin European Bartender School but there was one woman who told me she had a 'blubbery' personality and a guy who signed off as 'Nike' rather than 'Mike'.

"I replied telling him I hoped Lloyd would 'Just do it' and give him a job.

"I was thinking about taking screen grabs of their personal statements on Facebook and seeing if anyone else can give them a job but I don't know if they would want to work in Widnes!"
