Police closed Southern Expressway carriageway as emergency crews rescued trapped casualty
A CASUALTY trapped in a car was rescued by firefighters.
The man was injured following a collision between a heavy goods vehicle and a car.
The accident happened on the Southern Expressway in Runcorn shortly before 3pm on Friday, October 2.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters removed the vehicle roof to release the casualty who was handed into the care of paramedics.”
Police closed the Widnes bound carriageway on the Southern Expressway near Hallwood Road flyover while emergency services dealt with the incident.
