GARDENING enthusiasts and bakers are preparing to display their homegrown fruit, vegetables, flowers, cakes and tarts.
Widnes and District Horticultural Society is staging its 54th annual show at Ditton Community Centre, Dundalk Road on Sunday, September 6.
It opens from 2pm to 4.30pm.
Chairman Margaret Findlay said: “There will be plenty of interest for all the family including art and handicrafts, photography, home baking and jams.
“All this in addition to some amazing flowers and vegetables.”
The Motley Ukelele Band will entertain visitors throughout the afternoon.
Gardening News is the main sponsor.
They are sponsoring two new prize categories, ‘top vase’ for flowers and ‘top tray’ for vegetables.
They will award winners and runners-up with prizes and certificates.
There will be a prize raffle, tombola and book, DVD and plant stalls.
Exhibitors can stage entries from 6pm to 9pm on Saturday, September 5 and from 9am to 11.45am on Sunday, September 6.
