THE first phase of new homes at Lockfield in Runcorn has been completed by Halton Housing Trust with the first customers due to move in over the next few weeks.

Located in Runcorn’s Old Town, the eight two bedroom homes are part of a larger, phased development of 23 homes which will be available for affordable rent.

The homes aim to address the borough’s need for affordable homes and will help customers such as Kelly Jones, 26, from Runcorn, who is due to move in with her young son. She said: “We’ve been living with my Mum and Dad so I’m really looking forward to moving in, as it’ll give me independence. The homes look great and there’s even a clothes airer and shed in the garden!”

The development will be handed over in three phases and will be completed by early September.

Mike Leach, project manager, said: “We are really pleased with the look and feel of the homes and the development will have a real buzz once all the homes have been completed and all the residents have moved in. "The contractor, MCI Developments have been fantastic and have dealt with the constraints of the site very well ensuring minimal impact on existing residents.”
