ORMISTON Chadwick Academy is celebrating their first year of results in style after increasing the number of five A to Cs including English and maths by almost 10 per cent from the predecessor school.

Formerly Bankfield on Liverpool Road in Widnes, 23 out of 25 subjects saw a huge increase in results with plenty of top grades being picked up by a very happy year group.

Proud head teacher Tuesday Humby said: “Every single student has left the Academy with the qualifications they needed to get into college.

"There are some simply stunning results this year.”

Two ecstatic students included deputy head boy and girl Will Welsh and Abigail Barber who racked up seven A*s, 13As, five Bs and one C between them.

Will said: “I’m not going to lie. It’s been hard work and there has been a lot of catch up but I’m so grateful we became OCA for our final year.

"I’m so happy this has also shown in our results.”

Abigail added: “The atmosphere this year has been brilliant, this just tops it off.

"I’m really proud to be part of OCA.”

Professor Toby Salt, CEO of Ormiston Academies Trust said: "We're delighted to see a rise in results at Ormiston Chadwick Academy after just one year.

"These results are a testament to the hard work of staff and students who have shown great commitment and determination to succeed."
