STAFF and students at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic College in Widnes were celebrating again this week as they enjoyed another boost in GCSE results.

Overall results rose by five per cent with all departments seeing improvements on the 2014 figures.

Particular individual achievements include those students with eight or more A* and A grades including Elizabeth Austin, Alex Caslin, Jamie Patient and Amy Picton who all picked up 11.

Head teacher Wendy White said: "We are absolutely delighted with these results; so many students are celebrating outstanding achievement.

"In addition we have seen subjects like science making stunning progress against previous years and securing excellent results at GCSE and A-level.

"We are so proud of the students and it's great to see their commitment and hard work pay off."

Head of college Melissa Roberts said: “Today has been such a thrill for us.

"These are very special students who have been with the college throughout our transformation of recent years.

"When we got our Good judgement from OFSTED in 2014 the team commented on the bright and enthusiastic students and these pupils have now secured results that we can all be delighted with.

"The college is very proud of them all."
