Legendary Liverpool FC `supersub’ David Fairclough will be a special guest at a charity event in Widnes.

The event featuring the podcast team, The Anfield Wrap takes place at The Studio in Lacey Street on Friday August 14 from 7pm ahead of Liverpool’s first home game of the season.

All proceeds will be shared between the Hillsborough Justice Campaign and the An Hour for Others charity.

David, whose goal against St Etienne to seal a famous European Cup win is written in Anfield folklore, will be talking about stories from his new book, ‘Supersub’.

This is his personal account of life with one of English football’s greatest ever teams.

He will also be signing copies of his book.

Event organiser Paul Cook said: “It’s brilliant that David has agreed to be the guest for the evening.

“He was at Liverpool at a time when they were becoming the dominant force in English football and has an insider’s view of life at the club at that time.”

“Thanks are also due to The Anfield Wrap for securing his services for the evening and for doing the event themselves.

“I know they have a lot of followers who will want to hear their thoughts on the season ahead.”

Tickets are £10 and are available from We Got Tickets on wegottickets.com/event/326823 or by texting 07734771924.
