A PENSIONER has been left heartbroken after losing her late mum’s precious ring in Widnes flea market.

Mum-of-three Edna Clark from Halton View is desperate to find it.

Fighting back tears, she said: “I have cried and cried. It is priceless to me.

“I only wore it on special occasions.”

Her late mum, Annie McDowell died 22 years ago.

Edna, who has five grandchildren, said: “She bought the ring the only time she ever went abroad to visit my sister, Anne in South Africa.”

The ring has a gold band with a broad shank. It has a curved front with three diamond stones positioned sideways going across it.

Edna realised she had lost the ring on Wednesday, July 15 between 10am and 11.15am.

She immediately retraced her steps but couldn’t find it.

She returned to the flea market on Wednesday and spoke to stallholders to see if it had been handed in.

She has hunted round shops and put up notices in her quest to trace it.

She is now appealing for help from the public.

Edna added: “I loved my mother dearly and I feel I have let her down losing this ring.

“It has great sentimental value to me.

“It would mean the world to me to get it back.”

Anyone who may have found the ring or has any information can call Edna on 0151 423 6921.
