A bloom garden is being launched in Runcorn tomorrow.
Halton Council hopes the project will bring pride back into the old town.
Residents are invited to celebrate by bringing a picnic to High Street between 11am and 4pm on Tuesday, July 7.
Dancers will be performing a dance and poetry piece called ‘screentime’ with pupils from Palacefields Academy.
This will explore Alice in Wonderland through dance, poetry and music.
Hazlehurst Studios artists will be making a pop-up garden involving schoolchildren, businesses and community groups.
Last year they planted up old tin cans.
This time they are creating a visual arts theme around Lewis Carroll’s famous fairytale.
Halton Cllr Ron Hignett, board member of the physical environment who sits on the Runcorn Town Team, said: “Last year’s Old Town Bloom project was incredibly successful.
“The garden looked amazing throughout the summer and was enjoyed by the community.
“This year’s plans are even bigger and Runcorn Town Team is proud to support it.”
The town team has donated hanging baskets to businesses.
Claire Pitt from Hazlehurst Studios said: “There will be opportunities for residents, community groups and businesses to hang up information about themselves on our creative washing line, while reading about everyone else.”
