A MAN accused of murdering a Widnes mum-of-two today denied the allegation.
Stephen Duggan, aged 27, pleaded not guilty at Liverpool Crown Court to the murder of Alison Wilson.
Ms Wilson was allegedly fatally injured after she and another passer-by intervened in a 'disturbance' in Frank Street, Widnes on the evening of March 7.
She was taken to Whiston Hospital in a critical condition and Duggan was initially charged with wounding with intent but tragically 36-year-old Ms Wilson died on the evening of March 13.
Former Widnes man Duggan, who appeared at Liverpool Crown Court via video link from prison, also denied wounding of 43-year-old Anthony Tomlinson with intent and pleaded not guilty to causing actual bodily harm to a six-month-old baby boy, both on March 7.
Judge David Aubrey, QC, fixed a date for his trial, estimated to last three weeks, beginning on September 14.
Duggan, of no fixed abode, was further remanded in custody.
