GRASS skirts and a beach bar created a tropical atmosphere at Simonsfield Care Home in Boston Avenue, Runcorn.
The fun-filled Hawaiian party inspired an open day with a difference and attracted lots of visitors.
Administrator Debbie Kilduff said: “Everybody was presented with a flower garland.
“Staff made non-alcoholic cocktails for residents. For the more adventurous there were Mai Tais and Mojitos.
“The cinema room was decorated with palm trees and parrots and everyone could help themselves to a buffet.
“All the residents and their friends and families thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
It was the first event organised by Debbie Smith, the newly appointed home manager. She has just been promoted from deputy manager.
The home specialises in residential and dementia care.
