FRIENDS are teaming up for a tough fun-filled challenge.

Four lads calling themselves the Cowabunkers plan to dress as ninja turtles for a charity golf match.

They hope to complete 72 holes, four rounds of golf, in one day to support Macmillan’s longest golf day on June 20.

Team captain Trem Darnell, from Ditton, said: “It will involve a lot of walking, around 20 miles.

“We are getting up at 4am and hope to start playing as soon as it gets light.”

Joiner Trem is recovering from knee surgery but has been inspired to raise funds to thank the charity for supporting his friend’s mum.

He added: “I’m going to struggle with my knee but I’ll bear through the pain.

“Macmillan has helped my friend’s family a lot. I want to give something back.”

Malkins Bank golf club in Sandbach has given them the course free.

Trem will be joined by his friends David Doyle, Gavin Ho and Robbie Macoy.
