A MAN was struck in the face as he walked through Windmill Hill Woods in Runcorn.
Detectives today appealed for information following the attempted robbery which happened in Bridgeway East at around 8.30pm on Sunday, May 17.
The 38-year-old victim was grabbed from behind as he was using his mobile phone.
The offender tried to get the phone and both fell to the floor.
He then let go, stood on the victim’s hand and ran off in the direction of Townfield View empty handed.
The offender is described as wearing a black hooded top which had a Berghaus emblem on the back of the neck.
He also wore dark coloured jogging bottoms and dark coloured trainers.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or thinks they may have seen the offender.
