A TUMBLE drier caught fire in a flat above a Runcorn pub.

Firefighters tackled the blaze at the Red Lion in Runcorn Road, Moore at 10.30pm last night.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “A bedroom became involved in the fire.

“Firefighters, two wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to put out the blaze.

“A high pressure fan was also used to clear the property of smoke. “Nobody was trapped in the incident.”

Crews were at the scene for about an hour.
