RUNCORN Police Station has been given a facelift.

It has been upgraded with new open plan offices and the latest mobile technology.

The helpdesk has been refurbished so frontline staff can access information at their fingertips.

Ch Con Simon Byrne said: “I want anyone who comes into our helpdesks to feel welcome.

“The refurbishments of the public areas are important to ensure people feel comfortable when they come into a station.”

He said the new public contact points attached to stations provide24-hour access for the public.

Police and crime commissioner John Dwyer added: “I have pledged to maintain a strong and visible police presence.

“I am pleased to see the outcome of some of our investment plans come to fruition with improvements to police buildings based in our communities.

“This investment clearly demonstrates my commitment to serving the people of Runcorn.”

It is the second station in the county to receive a new look.
