A FLOURISHING Runcorn business is targeting new contracts in the Middle East, Europe and Africa.

Ventcroft Limited, the UK’s largest independent manufacturer of fire and security products, has received £7 million worth of funding to expand its overseas customers.

The company, established in 1989, moved to a new 100,000 sq ft purpose built factory in Faraday Road, Astmoor last year.

It already supplies customers in more than 50 countries all over the globe.

The firm’s cables are now designed, produced and delivered from one of the most modern automated cable plants in the world.

Frank Rotheram, managing director, said: “Imagination, innovation and technical expertise are the cornerstones of our business, together with our young, highly trained and well motivated workforce.

“We work closely with our customers to create product ranges that meet and even exceed their needs and are installer-friendly.

“We constantly strive to challenge conventional constraints in developing and delivering the highest performance products available.”

Yorkshire Bank has provided funds to enable the company to grow.

Ventcroft is currently developing new cable ranges due to be launched later this year.

These include a collection of pioneering products.

Next month will see the rollout of ‘noshock’, a life safety circuit protection cable which prevents accidental electrical shock when nails are mistakenly knocked through wires.

Stewart Cook, head of Yorkshire Bank’s Merseyside business and private banking centre, said: “Ventcroft is an innovative and ambitious business that continues to diversify its product offering in order to become a leader in its field on a worldwide stage.”
