MOTORISTS are warned of road closures as urgent repairs have to be carried out to Station Road Bridge in Runcorn.
The essential work is needed to repair damage to the columns that support the bridge.
In order to carry out the work it will be closing the Expressway beneath the bridge for an estimated 10 weeks.
This will affect traffic travelling from the Bridgewater Expressway to the Weston Point Expressway and vice versa.
From 7pm on Sunday, April 26, the following roads will be closed:
• A557 Weston Point Expressway to A533 Bridgewater Expressway – diversion across Silver Jubilee Bridge to Ditton roundabout and back following the hollow square symbol
• A533 Bridgewater Expressway to A557 Weston Point Expressway - diversion across Silver Jubilee Bridge to Ditton roundabout and back following the solid triangle symbol
• The route from Silver Jubilee Bridge to A557 Weston Point Expressway will remain open, but will be closed overnight for the installation of equipment Signed diversons will be in place.
