CHILDREN enjoyed a teddy bears' picnic at Runcorn Library.

Almost 50 youngsters turned up to say goodbye to librarian Adele Evans, who has run interactive rhymetime sessions for the past two years.

She is transferring to Widnes Library.

Adele said: “We had songs, games, jellies, cakes and biscuits.

“We had a lovely time.”

Author and dad-of-two Stephen Clarke wrote a poem featuring all the children’s names and read it with Adele.

Stephen, aged 60, of Wellington Street, said: “They loved it.

“Adele has done a fantastic job. The children will miss her.”

Rhymetime sessions at Runcorn Library are moving to Tuesday.

They are also held at Ditton Library on Monday, Halton Lea Library on Thursday and Widnes Library on Friday.

The sessions are free and run from 11am to 11.45am.

Stories and rhymes will be read to children up the age of four.

There is no need to book.
