CHILDREN and adults have teamed up to bring colour into their housing estate.
Volunteers sowed seeds, planted flowers and created hanging baskets to launch Murdishaw in Bloom.
More than 100 residents have brightened up Gorsewood Pond, which was transformed last year from a dilapidated stagnant dumping ground into a flourishing nature reserve.
A new community project has now brought spring sunshine to the area.
Lorna Cotterill, Riverside’s community engagement officer, said: “There was a fantastic turnout, as the early sunshine encouraged more people to get involved.
“This forms part of a range of projects to encourage health and wellbeing as well community spirit and pride in our neighbourhoods.”
Everyone was treated to a celebration hog roast afterwards.
The event was organised by Riverside, Liverpool Housing Trust, and Halton Council.
The gardening project will continue throughout the summer with a open week starting on August 24 at Murdishaw Community Centre.
Residents will be invited to create art works.
