AN international artist has opened a new solo exhibition at The Brindley.

Michael Takeo Magruder has creatively blended modern computer systems and networks with traditional forms of visual art.

His thought-provoking exhibition, Living Data, aims to explore art based on social media and digital communications.

A selection of digitally hybrid paintings, sculptures, videos and installations gives visitors an opportunity to experience new ways of seeing and interacting with living data.

His pieces have been generated by the vast and ever changing sea of collective data that underpins all aspects of our everyday existence.

He works with digital and new media including real time data, immersive environments, mobile devices and virtual worlds.

In the past 15 years, 41-year-old Michael has staged more than 250 exhibitions in 30 countries.

In 2010, he was selected to represent the UK at Manifesta8: the European biennial of contemporary art.

His exhibition runs until April 18.

Admission is free.
