A TEAM of women flexed their muscles for a charity truck pull.

Ladies from Runcorn haulage company Freight First managed to move a 26 tonne truck 100 foot on Thursday in just 43 seconds.

It is their first fundraising event to help save the lives of newborn babies.

Simon Meredith, managing director said: “To celebrate our 15 year anniversary, we’re pledging £15,000 to the babygrow appeal, a charity that is very close to the heart of us all.

“When our customer service manager, Chris Bullock’s twins, Jess and Joe were born prematurely in 2013, the care they received at Chester Hospital was absolutely phenomenal and undoubtedly saved their lives.

“We are determined to help them achieve their £3 million target.”

The truck pull raised £1,500 from 50 individuals and companies paying to have their names printed on the babygrow truck.

The company in Aston Lane, Preston Brook, has doubled its staff over the past year and has pledged to help the neonatal unit double its capacity by Christmas.
