CHESHIRE Scouts are hoping to launch a new cub group at Halebank Youth Club in Widnes next month.

They are appealing for adults to give up their time to help run the exciting new venture.

Four taster sessions will be held on March 13, 20, 27 March and April 3 from 6pm to 7.30pm at the youth club in Baguley Avenue.

The idea is to give young people and adults a true flavour of what goes on during a scout meeting.

Adult volunteers are needed to help run the sessions.

No experience is required to become a leader, just bags of enthusiasm and a passion to work with young people.

Assuming that at least three adult volunteers come forward to give up their time on a weekly basis, it is planned that a cub group for boys and girls aged 8 to 10 will be established from April 17.

They will meet every Friday from 6pm to 7.30pm.

Cheshire Scouts will provide training and mentoring programmes to make sure new volunteers are well supported.

There will be opportunities to improve existing and develop new skills, grow new friendships and take on new challenges to help reach new personal potentials.
