A TEENAGER escaped unhurt after being doused in petrol.
The 16-year-old boy was assaulted in Brookdale, Widnes, at around 3.30pm on Monday, January 26.
Police were called following a disturbance.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “Officers attended the scene and found that a 16-year-old man had been assaulted.
“The victim did not require hospital treatment.
“As part of their investigations, officers are currently following a number of lines of enquiry.
“There is currently an increased police presence in the local area.”
Police believe it was an isolated, targeted incident and not a random attack.
Officers say there was no fire at the property.
They are keen to reassure the community.
Firefighters and paramedics attended the scene as a precaution.
