A TEENAGE girl has been sexually assaulted in Runcorn.
The 16-year-old was walking along a footpath near a pond in the Town Park when she was approached from behind by a man.
The attack happened off Lodge Lane at around 2.40pm on Friday, January 23.
Detectives today mounted an appeal for witnesses.
The offender is described as a white man, in his late teens, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build, with short black hair, stubble and a slim face.
He was wearing a black zip up waterproof jacket, blue jeans and dark high ankle coloured boots.
He had a scarf around his neck which was tucked into his jacket, along with a black backpack.
DC Justin Jones said: "We treat all reports of sexual assaults extremely seriously.
“I urge anyone with any information about this case to contact Cheshire Police.”
