A RUNCORN woman who failed to clean up a large accumulation of dog poo from her garden has been fined £400.
Kimberley Barker, aged 29, of Mooring Close, Murdishaw, who failed to turn up at court was fined £400 by magistrates and ordered to pay £192 costs and a £40 victim surcharge.
She had ignored an abatement notice to remove a large accumulation of dog faeces from her garden.
After hearing the facts, Warrington magistrates found the matter proved on January 21.
They also imposed a collection order, so if Barker fails to pay her fines, the court can take action to recover the money from her.
She ignored an abatement notice served under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, in July 2014 by Halton Council environmental health officers.
This is a formal notice which legally requires a person responsible or occupier of a property to abate a nuisance.
