THE imagination of Runcorn pupils has been inspired by famous artists.

Children at Bridgewater Park Primary School in Castlefields have been creating their own versions of world renowned masterpieces.

They have been working with artist Jess Ball to produce murals for their new school library.

Head teacher Paul Holloway said: “It allows the children to express themselves and gives us a chance to spot budding artists who perhaps don’t excel in other subjects.

“The children have created some absolutely fantastic art work. It raises their aspirations.

“Some pupils produced their own version of Monet’s water lilies.”

Their work was put on display for their mums and dads to see in an exhibition.

The children have an after school art club.

A parents’ art class is also being run every Monday for an hour.

Mr Holloway added:”We want to become the centre of learning for the community.

“Parents themselves might have some hidden talents.”
