HEARTACHE and pain have united two Runcorn women.

Luanne Rimmer and Rebecca Daley have both lost babies.

They are now campaigning for a national remembrance day for pregnancy and infant loss.

They need 100,000 people to sign their Government epetition to join Canada, USA, Australia and Italy who already mark October 15 every year as an awareness day for unborn babies.

More than 300 babies die every day in the UK.

Luanne, aged 41, from Murdishaw, has lost seven babies and is no longer able to have children.

She said: “For over 20 years I have cried inside. It’s taken us a long time to realise that we are ‘angel mums’.

“We want to give our babies a day of remembrance and help others with their grief.”

Luanne, who has a weak cervic, spent thousands of pounds at various clinics trying to conceive.

She said:”There is no cost wanting to share your love with a child.

“We felt like we had won the lottery when we were blessed with the can of twins. We heard their heart beat.

“I miscarried the twins on the day which would have been my first angel, Jessica’s 21st birthday.

“I want to remove the stigma of losing a life. People don’t know what to say to you.

“All you want is a hug.”

Rebecca, aged 32, from Murdishaw, who lost a son in 2011, said: “My dreams, my life, my heart had been broken into a million pieces.

“Words can’t describe my feelings.

“My life was never the same again.”

Rebecca now has a two-year-old daughter, Ava.

She added: “When you are younger you think you’ll meet someone and have a baby. You don’t realise that complications may happen.

“It took me a long time to have Ava. I feel blessed.

“I want her to know that she had a brother.

“We want to get a remembrance day for all our angels so we don’t have to sit in silence but can support each other.

“Our angels need this day so we can say you are all never forgotten.”
