FAMILIES are invited to plant snowdrops in memory of someone special who has died.
A snowdrop walk is being held at Norton Priory Museum and Gardens on Saturday, February 7, from 12 noon to 3pm.
Child Bereavement UK is inviting families to plant snowdrops in a dedicated area of the walled garden.
Alan Tichmarsh, the charity’s patron, said: “By planting a snowdrop in memory of a loved one you will be helping familes to rebuild their lives after the devastation of child bereavement.”
Snowdrops will be available for sale and charity staff and volunteers will be on hand to help with the planting.
A book of remembrance donated by bereaved family will be available for commemorative messages.
Special activities for children will include a scavenger hunt.
Youngsters can help Hetty the elephant find all her missing picnic items throughout the walk and receive a fun-filled goody bag at the end.
Refreshments will be available.
Ann Chalmers, chief executive of Child Bereavement UK, said: “We are very grateful to Norton Priory for their support of this special day.
“It’s a lovely way to spend a Saturday in a beautiful setting.
“Every penny raised will go towards our vital work supporting bereaved families.”
Admission is £2.50 adult, £1.50 concessions. Children under three admitted free.
