PATIENTS have commended the high standards of care at the accident and emergency department in Whiston Hospital.
A survey carried out by the Care Quality Commission showed that the quality of care and communication of clinicians working within the department was excellent.
Patients felt that doctors and nurses listened to their concerns.
They also stated that they had confidence and trust in clinicians, with the department rating highly for treating patients with respect and dignity and providing privacy during care.
The accident and emergency department was also named as providing some of the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the country, with excellent facilities.
Chief executive Ann Marr said: “We are pleased that patients feel they are receiving high standards of care at the accident and emergency department.
“Also, that they are well cared for in a clean and safe environment. It is a testament to the hard work of the staff, in an extremely busy department.
“The trust welcomes this feedback and is committed to continuing to provide high standards of care to our patients.”
