COLOURFUL festive jumpers replaced uniforms at schools across Halton on Friday.
Children and staff at St Gerard’s Catholic Primary School in Lugsdale Road, Widnes wore their silliest, sparkliest and cosiest Christmas woolies to support Save the Children.
They paid £1 each to join the nationwide appeal to help pay for projects such as providing lifesaving anti-biotics for babies with infections.
It is the third year of the charity’s Christmas jumper day.
And this year, the government is doubling every penny donated.
Head teacher Karl Landrum said: “It was a fantastic event and as ever was supported by the parents and carers of the school.”
